EASTHAM, MA & NAPLES, FL – John Joseph Veneri, 84, of Eastham, MA and Naples, FL passed away on January 28, 2013. He is survived by his loving wife Donna (Foster). John was born in Shelton, CT on Dec. 25, 1928; he was the son of the late Antonio and Catherine (Rizzo) Veneri.
John grew up and was educated in Shelton, CT; he graduated high school with the Class of 1946. He later attended University of CT and graduated from the Tri-State University in Indiana with a Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering. While at the University of CT, he served as an altar boy.
John joined the U.S. Army and served two years in Aberdeen Proving Grounds, MD as well as Eniwetok Marshall Island in the Pacific, he was later honorably discharged from Fort Devens, MA. He achieved LT. Commander in the power squadron and remained active in Housatonic Power Squadron in Stratford, CT. He worked for 34 years with Lycoming Division of Avco working as a mechanical engineer. John was a communicant at St. Joan of Arc Church in Orleans, MA and St. Ann Church in Naples, FL. He was an avid boater and golfer for many years.
Besides his wife Donna, he is survived by his three children, sons; Michael Veneri and wife Elizabeth, and Gregory Veneri; daughter, Lisa Roncaioli and husband William; grandchildren, Jordan and John Veneri, Kaitlin and Sean Roncaioli; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by 3 brothers; Joseph, Anthony, and Charles.

Visiting hours will be held from 4p-6:30p on Friday February 1 at Nickerson Funeral Home, 77 Eldredge Park Way, Orleans. A Funeral Mass will be held at 9am on Saturday February 2 at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, Orleans, MA. Burial will be private.
