James R. O'Connor

Of Brewster, formerly of Arlington, August 3, 2010 at age 75. Loving Husband for 43 years to Barbara A. (Bugden) O’Connor. Dear father to Nancy O’Connor of West Hartford, CT, Brian O’Connor of Catuamet, Ma, Sally Hughes of Concord, MA, Susan McAuliff of Manchester, MA, Tim O’Connor of Barrington, RI, and Carrie Strachan of Bainbridge, WA. Loving grandfather to 14 grandchildren. Dedicated brother of Bill O’Connor (deceased), of Sarasota, FL and sister of Corinne Oliver of Irvine, CA.

Originally from Medford, MA, Jim graduated from Belmont Hill School, The United Stated Military Academy at West Point, and Boston College Law School. He was an accomplished hockey player and long time coach of youth and high school hockey. Following a long career in patent law in suburban Boston he moved to Cape Cod year round in 1981 to open a private legal practice and pursue his interest in lobster fishing. In addition to Brewster, he resided for many years in both Chatham, MA and Orleans, MA.

A funeral service celebrating “Okie’s” life will be held at, St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church 61, Canal Rd, Orleans, MA on Friday August 13th at 10:00 AM. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday August 12th from 5 to 8 PM at Nickerson Funeral Home, 77 Eldredge Parkway, Orleans, MA. Interment at Orleans cemetery, Orleans, MA .
