EASTHAM - Edna “MiMi” P. (Higgins) Heeg, 97, passed away on December 3, 2018 after a short stay at Liberty Commons. Born in Boston, MA on August 10, 1921 to Warren Arthur and Edna Ray (Partridge) Higgins. She was a resident of Eastham, formally from Attleboro, Roslindale and Pine Island, FL.
She was the wife to the late William (Charlie) C. Heeg, whom she met while performing with the USSO. She was also a professional dress maker at Jay’s in Boston. She was also a Red Hatter in Florida as well as here on Cape.
She was a very active member of the Roslindale Congregational Church and was a longtime volunteer (up until last spring) of the Eastham Senior Center Thrift Shop. She was also part of a knitting group called the Knit Wits.
She and her husband were snowbirds and spent their winters in Pine Island Florida. She loved animals, and enjoyed her 2 parakeets, Desi and Lucy.
She is predeceased by her late husband, William C. Heeg “Charlie”. She is survived by her two daughters; Linda Hagg of Eastham and Susan Kiklis of Eastham. She is also survived by her grandchildren; Karen Kelly of South Carolina, Scott Hagg of Colorado, Kristin Cannistraro of Eastham, Courtney Delgado of Westport, Justin Kiklis of Eastham and Travis Kiklis of Eastham. She is also survived by 10 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.
Mom (MiMi) was a social butterfly, who enjoyed being with anyone who crossed her path. She truly had her own personal fan club.
Visiting hours will be held from 9:30a-11a, followed by a funeral service beginning at 11am on Monday, Dec. 10 at Nickerson Funeral Home, 77 Eldredge Park Way, Orleans. Burial will take place in Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton, MA.
