Sunday, August 24,2014, Dorothy Lee Edmondson age 91, died at Epoch Senior Living in Brewster, Massachusetts. Born to Sadie Reynolds Taylor and Dimond Sanders in New Bern on December 25, 1922. Dorothy married David H. Edmondson (pre-deceased) on February 13, 1942. They resided in James City and together they had 9 children, two boys William Thomas and James Earl pre-deceased their Mother. She is survived by children: David and his wife Bonzetta Edmondson of Laveen, Az, Dorothy Calvin of Chicago, IL, Sadie Osborne, of San Diego Ca., Darnell of Arlington, TX, Estella of Eastham, Massachusetts, Samuel of Marion, NC and Elaine of New Bern, 12 grand children, 19 great grand children, 4 great great grands, and her sister Allie Allen of Raleigh.
Funeral services will be held at Pilgrim Chapel Missionary Baptist , Reverend Winbush officiating, 1 pm, Sunday, 8/31. Burial to follow at Greenwood Cemetery, New Bern, NC. The family will receive friends and guests at the Pilgrim Chapel Annex after the burial. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
