David Paul Maguire

David was born in Waltham MA in 1950 and was the fourth child of Eleanor (King) DiIulis and Robert Nelligan Sr. He graduated from Bridgewater-Raynham high school and then worked in the plastics industry for over 30 years. He worked for the last 10 years of his career at Cape Cod Potato Chips as a shift supervisor.

He had a passion for quahogging and fishing, and he loved to teach anyone who would go with him. He also enjoyed coaching, and coached Varsity and Junior Varsity basketball for Cape Cod Regional Technical School in Harwich. He also coached both his sons in basketball and baseball and taught them the love of coaching and playing sports. He also loved watching his Boston sports teams.

David was the husband of Mary Ann (Giardino) Maguire for 51 years. He leaves behind 3 children, Michael Maguire and his fiancé Rachel Imrie of Brewster, Stacy (Maguire) Fluet and her husband Frank Fluet of Harwich, Stephen Maguire and his wife Debbie Maguire of Chatham, and the apple of his eye, his grandson Parker David Fluet.

David was the brother to Linda (Arthur) Johnson of Virginia, Margie (Ken) Porter of Texas, Nancy (Herb) Richardson of Florida, Richard (Louise) Nelligan of Raynham, MA, Robert (Valerie) Nelligan Jr of Florida and many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours at Nickerson Funeral Home, 77 Eldredge Park Way, Orleans, MA on Saturday, February 12, 2022, from 1 – 4pm, with Words of Remembrances beginning at 3:20pm. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations in memory of David to a charity of your choice.
