Late of Harwich and Brewster, departed peacefully on November 18, 2022 in the compassionate care of The Terraces SNF, Orleans MA. She was 89 years of age. Predeceased by her parents at age nine (9) Carol, her brother and sister were adopted as their own by an aunt and uncle, Beatrice and William Webster of Ridgewood NJ and Harwich MA. They passed away many years later, with Carol serving as their caregiver. Her sister Mary Lenore Webster died in 1990. A much admired nephew Patrick William Webster, son of brother Edward and wife Paula, passed away in 2017.
Carol and her siblings grew up in Ridgewood. She was happy and successful in high school and spent summers on the Cape, working hard as were many of her peers at the Thompson Brothers Clam Bar on Wychmere Harbor in Harwich Port. Carol was graduated at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill in 1955, with a degree in economics and recognition as a leader and superior student in several categories: most notably as president of the Valkyries honor society and as the outstanding woman of her junior class. At Carolina she pledged Pi Beta Phi and was a chapter officer.
She entered the business world in New York City and progressed through various fields becoming focused on management of medical research projects at hospitals in New York and Boston. For the latter half of her career she served as executive assistant to the academic dean of medicine at Weill Cornell Medical School, from which she was retired through various stages in the late 1900s. In 1976 she met and married Henry A. (“Hank”) McCormack of Scarsdale and New York City, NY. She joined him informally in his work as Mid-Atlantic Development Director for the University of Notre Dame and together they became a highly successful team, known and widely respected by colleagues and alumni in the US and United Kingdom. They retired to Harwich in 2000 where they made new and close friends through the Rising Tide Investment Club and other activities. Hank passed away in 2007.
Carol is survived by her brother, Captain Edward W. Webster, USN, (Ret) (spouse Paula Massie Webster), nephew Edward C. Webster, PhD (Heidi Goar), niece Jessica Marley Webster, Sr. US Foreign Service (Ret); and children of Hank McCormack: Kathe E. Liljestrand, Kevin B. McCormack, Christopher A. McCormack, and Sheila B. Schreyer.

The Mass will be streamed for remote viewing. She will be buried in the Eldridge family plot in Evergreen Cemetery, East Harwich next to her beloved husband Hank. An informal reception will be held afterward at a nearby restaurant to be announced.
