Thomas Anthony Turowski, age 69, of Melbourne Beach, Florida passed away on Sunday, May 26, 2024. Thomas was born in Newport, Rhode Island on April 25, 1955. Tom graduated from Colonial High School and received an Associate Degree from Valencia College. His life partner was Sarah Sams. Tom had a career in Fishing for Sebastian Bait and Tackle and had a passion for diving, fishing, and surfing.
Thomas, son of Edwin and Elayne Turowski, a Navy brat, was number 5 of 9 siblings. Fiercely independent, brave,resilient, tough, and above all loyal to family and friends. In the early 1990's, Tom moved to South Melbourne Beach and shortly thereafter opened a bait and tackle shop at Sebastian Inlet State Park. Soon to enter into his life, partner Sarah Sams and her son Russell. Three decades together they built a network of community services for the fishing industry. Knowledgeable in local beaches, shells, saltwater fishing, and updates to Brevard County news outlets for visitors.
Tom did not fear death because he knew God is with him. "I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me."
Tom is survived by Brothers: David Turowski, Robert Turowski; Sister: Susan (Greg) Connell. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sisters: Carol Zebrowsky, Sara Klieman, and Judy King, and his brothers: Michael Turowski and Patrick Turowski.
Funeral arrangements will be held at 9:00am Surfers Paddle Out, June 23, 2024, at Sebastian Inlet State Park, North Jetty, Melbourne Beach, Florida.
