He was born in Morristown New Jersey on April 27th, 1931 to the late Charles and Nannie Davis. Roy was raised in Morristown, where he attended Morris County, New Jersey schools. He then joined the United States Army in 1948 where he served honorably until 1954.
While serving his country he was awarded the Army Occupation Medal of Germany and received two honorable discharges.
Many years later he married a hometown girl Jacqueline (Jackie) L. Thompson. Roy pursued a career as an automotive mechanic. He and his wife Jackie continued to live and work in New Jersey until after they both retired. Upon retirement they relocated to Orlando Florida where they purchased a home. Roy and Jackie became members of The New Covenant Baptist Church of Orlando. Roy served faithfully as a member of the security team, until his death.
In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by brothers Joe and Charlie. He leaves to mourn his beloved wife Jacqueline, sisters Racheal, Wanda Yancey (Bill) and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, friends and The New Covenant Family.
