Richard Peter Jankowski, 79, of Orlando, FL, passed away on Tuesday, March 8, 2022. He was born in Newark, NJ, on December 4, 1942, and was raised in Sewaren, NJ. Richard attended Woodbridge High School. As a young man, “Richie” served in the United States Army and was stationed in Germany. Upon his return to the states, he married Beverly Carole Larsen of Woodbridge, NJ. He worked at General Motors in Linden, NJ prior to moving to Orlando, FL in 1977.
Richie enjoyed hunting and fishing with his father-in-law and friends. He was a lifelong baseball fan and was passionate about the New York Yankees. He played in multiple leagues and coached senior league baseball. He was also passionate about bowling and was celebrated for having once bowled a perfect 300 game. Richie was active in his community and served as President of the Sky Lake South Homeowner’s Association.
Richie’s greatest joy was his family. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Beverly; his daughter, Renee Higgerson and her husband Alan of Dripping Springs, TX; his daughter, Lynette Starkey and fiance Dan Campbell of Orlando, FL; and his daughter, Tracie Loveless and her husband Mike of Wake Forest, NC; grandchildren Kayeleigh, Jake, Emmary, Brady, Brant, Karley, Matthew, Michael, and Colton; and great-grandchildren Grayson, Jameson, and Everly. He was preceded in death by his parents Stanley and Natalie (Mosakowski) Jankowski, brother Eugene and his grandsons Mason Roy and James Richard.
Richie will be remembered for his boisterous personality, malapropisms, and his famous potato salad.
