Margaret Shackelford Smith 86, of Orlando, was welcomed into Heaven by her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, October 16, 2019.
Margaret was born in Warrenton, Virginia on October 11, 1933 to Carlton and Anita Shackelford. She graduated from Aldie High School in 1951.
In 1966, Margaret married Dwight Smith and celebrated 53 years of marriage in May of 2019 shortly before Dwight went to Heaven in July.
Being raised in the Southern Baptist Church, Margaret especially enjoyed singing in the choir. At home she loved playing the piano and singing the old hymns of the faith.
Margaret was predeceased by her parents, her brother Carlton Shackelford, and her cousin Paul Spieles. She is lovingly remembered by her two children, Prudence Vermilyea and C.W. Myers; four grandchildren, Ryan, Katie, Sarah, and Timothy, and ten great-grandchildren.
