Linda Burris Bonta, 79 of Union Park, Florida, departed this life on September 25, 2022 at the Mike Conley Hospice House following a brief decline in health. Our dear Linda passed away peacefully as the Chaplain was praying beside her bedside.
Linda Bonta was born in Windy, KY to the late Claude and Eula Burris on August 17th 1943. She was married to the late George Bonta. Her marriage to George was very strong and they loved each other very much. She missed him greatly along with her late son Kenneth Bonta and granddaughter Tia Bonta.
Linda graduated from Evans High School in 1961. To further her studies, she attended Orlando Junior College. This would lead her to study at Florida Technological University and receive her Bachelors in Science in Business Administration on December 16th 1977. She would then go on to receive her Master of Arts degree from the University of Central Florida on December 16th 1983.
Linda became a pillar within the UCF community. She became an accountant at UCF then worked through the ranks to achieve the title of Controller. She would later retire from University of Central Florida after 40 years of faithful and dedicated service. Over the years Linda worked with many friends who quickly became family. She loved to meet with her UCF friends and go to eat together and reminisce. She had a passion for serving others and embraced every challenge with grace and poise.
Linda was a faithful member of the Grace Journey Church of Union Park, Florida. She volunteered her time and talents for many years there as the church’s accountant, handling the church’s budget and financial affairs.
Linda lived a full life and cherished every memory with her family and friends. She enjoyed many hobbies from amateur photography to volunteering and leading a helping hand anywhere possible. Over the course of her life, Linda would go on to adopt four children. She understood the importance of loving the fatherless and cared for them very much, accepting them as her very own.
She always encouraged and stressed the importance of having a relationship with God and actively attended church to keep her faith strong. She avidly took notes during the sermons at church and made them applicable in her own life.
Linda Bonta was preceded in death by her parents Claude and Eula Burris, brother and sisters (Robert Delno (Bob) Burris, Mary Hammond and Dorsey Willoughby Bell).
