Kathleen D. Schneider (Milsom), of Orlando formerly of Alamosa, Colorado passed away at her home surrounded by love ones, October 21, 2020, following a long battle with cancer. She was 66. "Kathie", as she was known to her friends and family, was the beloved wife of Gerard "Jerry" E. Schneider. Born in Monte Vista, Colorado, Kathie was the daughter of the late Alfred W. Milsom and Billie L. Lane.
Kathie was raised and educated in Alamosa, Colorado. She held a clerical and transport position with the Alamosa Sheriff's Department which is where she met her beloved husband of 25 years, Jerry. Upon moving to Orlando in 1989, Kathie worked in the bakery at the Kirkman Oaks Publix. In her spare time, Kathie enjoyed traveling, photography, and fishing, but the one thing she enjoyed most was spending time with her family and friends. Kathie held a special appreciation for the love and support she received from their long-time neighbor of 22 years, Ewell and Bridget Carter of Orlando.
Kathie will fondly be remembered for her fun-loving personality, strength and bravery.
Along with her husband Jerry, Kathie is survived by her stepdaughter Paula (Domenic) Lanni of Lincolnshire, IL and stepson Jason Schneider of Houston, TX. She was the loving grandmother of Brittany (Jared) Hedler of Round Lake, IL, Katelyn Parr of Orlando, FL, and Grayce and Matthew Lanni of Lincolnshire, IL. Kathie was also the great-grandmother to Ethan Hedler of Round Lake, IL. She is further survived by siblings Colleen (Lloyd) Armstrong of Pueblo, CO, Mike Milsom of Indianapolis, IN, Greg (Seri) Milsom of Fort Morgan, CO, Shannon Milsom of Cambridge, England, Terry Milsom of Colorado City, CO, and Doug Milsom of Pueblo, CO, along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral arrangements from the Family Funeral Care Center will be held for family members on Friday, October 23, 2020. It has been requested that in lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Kathie's memory to the American Cancer Society by visiting www.cancer.org.
