Josephine was born in Uvalda, GA to Curtis James and Rozie Lee White as one of six children. At the young age of 16, she met David R. Dixon, the love of her life. Soon after, they were married and raised 6 children together.
She was a wife first, avid homemaker, and an awesome country style cook who made the best fried chicken you ever tasted. She loved her pets and had a passion for making things grow.
David and Jo retired to Waynesville, GA in 1989 where they spent the last years of their life together. They enjoyed the slower pace, and went back to their roots and began growing all their own vegetables. In addition to the field of silver queen corn, peas, speckled butterbeans, taters, okra and green beans, Josephine had her own smaller garden with cucumbers, cabbages, squash, tomatoes and her favorite, mustard greens. Although it was a lot of work, she loved every minute of it.
After her husband passed away in 2006, she moved to Orlando where she lived out the rest of her life.
