James Milton Hillery

Jim was born December 16, 1929 in Youngstown, OH. He attended high school in Indianapolis, IN and was a proud graduate of Purdue University. He enlisted in the Navy in 1948, serving in Korea during the Korean War. Jim relocated with his wife and children to Orlando in 1966 to work for Martin-Marietta (now Lockheed Martin). After retiring in 1992, Jim enjoyed going on cruises to destinations like Alaska, the Panama Canal and the Amazon River. Jim has been an active member of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) throughout his life, most recently a member of Community Christian Church, Orlando.

Jim was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Iona “Susie” Hillery. He is survived by his son, William Hillery (Belinda) of Picayune, MS, daughter Mary Haskin (Brent) of Orlando, FL, grandchildren, Lauren Hillery (Dusty Bratton), Scott Hillery (Shelby) and Kevin Hillery, great-grandsons Quinton Hillery and Braden Hillery and his companion Judith McElroy.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00pm on Wednesday, December 2, 2020 at Chapel Hill Cemetery, 2420 Harrell Rd, Orlando, FL. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
