James Edward Bootes, 82, of Orlando, Florida, passed away on July 17, 2021. He was born in Lockport, NY to parents, George and Florence (Eifert) Bootes.
James served in the United States Navy from 1956-1975 retiring as Chief Petty Officer. Was a Company Commander for 2 groups and travelled to Greece, Italy and Turkey. After retiring he went to work for Walt Disney World as an Animation Machinist and retired from there after 20 years.
He was a devoted Catholic and in 1961 he joined the Knights of Columbus. Sir Knight James E. Bootes served as Grand Knight 1987-1988 and was a past Faithful Navigator.
James was a great husband, father, friend and caregiver and will be missed by all.
James is survived by his wife of 59 years, Margaret; daughter, Laurie Handley; grandchildren, Megan and Harrison Handley, and numerous nieces and nephews.
