She was born in Akron, Ohio on May 3, 1933. God broke the mold when he created her. After growing up and on a family vacation she met the love of her life, Aaron Paul Dixon. After a beautiful courtship, they were married for 44 blessed years.
She was a loving mother to her children Cheri Newsom, Kenny Dixon and Tami Clark. Donna is survived by her two daughters. While she was met in Heaven by her son, Kenny and husband, Paul. She leaves behind her 7 grandchildren; Aimee Hamby, April Stewart, Nathan Clark, Carrie Malik, William Henry-Dixon, Ashley Robbins and Nichole Dixon. As well as her 19 great grandchildren, she SO loved her role as Nana.
While her husband Paul was in the United States Air Force, the family traveled all over the USA making lifelong friendships. Orlando, Florida became the families home for the last 46 years. Along with being a Mother and Nana, Donna and Paul spent many years Square Dancin’, she had a love of God she shared with everyone, she shared her beach house with her family every year she could, she was a part of the Red Hat Society where she would dress up and promote fun and friendship, she would host and be a part of some of the best Tea Parties.
As a little girl, she wanted nothing more than to become a mother to a family of her own. She was a mother, she was a teacher, she was a care giver, she was a friend, she was a grandmother and she was a wife. Her legacy she leaves behind is the embodiment of a Mother and a Nana. She’s made so many memories with her children that have been carried on through four generations and will continue to live on. Every cookie bake, every egg decorating, every holiday, every sunrise and sunset, every Christmas tree, every Tea, every birthday and every day she shared her wisdom with those she loved.
Her smile and laughter could light up any room. Often she was referred to as “Mrs. Hollywood.” No matter the struggle or sacrifice she went through, she carried it with grace, courage and glamour. She was always so beautiful (inside and outside) and what most would say, she left sparkle everywhere she went.
Our hope is with every memory of Donna, you feel loved.
We love you a bushel and a peck, and a hug around the neck. Until we see you again. ❤️❤️
