He was a true patriot and an accomplished businessman.
Don enjoyed fishing and hunting, especially with his sons and family. He remained active in Bible Study, playing bingo and cards, going to musical performances, and enjoying time in the family room catching up with neighbors. He was a lifelong member of the United Methodist Church in Florida and Virginia.
He was exceptionally proud of his family and told them and everyone else he knew all the time, sharing stories and pictures whenever he could.
The family would like to thank Bay Breeze Assisted Living for taking such great care of him in recent years.
Everyone who was fortunate enough to know him will recall his in-depth knowledge of many subjects, culinary skills, quick wit, dry sense of humor, anecdotes, and insightful observations about life. He was a blessing to so many and shared his blessings in kind.
A graveside service will be held at Greenwood Cemetery in Orlando, Florida on Thursday July 28, 2022 at 11:30 am. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Don’s name to Aldersgate United Methodist Church in Charlottesville, Virginia (cvaumc.org).
