David John White was born on September 8, 1925. He passed away at Alexander Nininger Veterans’ Nursing Home in Pembroke Pines, Florida at the age of 96. He was one of three children born to the late Margarette White, in Petersburg, Virginia. His brother and sister proceeded him in death.
His wife of 47 years, Guillermina White proceeded him in death. David had 9 children: 4 daughters that proceeded him in death: Glenda, Milca, Dora and Davene. He has 4 surviving daughters: Valerie Hudson of Hopewell, Virginia; Davine Irving, LTC USA Retired and husband Anthony Irving of Gainesville, Virginia; Madelin Velasquez and husband Eliezer Velasquez of Queens, New York; Velvet Cooper and husband William Cooper III of Pembroke Pines Florida; and 1 surviving son, David J. White of Anchorage Alaska. 7 of his children were with his former wife, Mollie White that proceeded him in death. He has 9 surviving grandchildren: Gia Wright and husband Gerald Wright of Davenport, Florida; Eliezer Velasquez of Queens, New York, Leland White and wife Yadira White of Woodbridge, Virginia; Crystal Velasquez of Queens, New York; Monique Harris and husband Demotrious Harris; James Lewis, Tina Jones, Crystal Joseph, and Roshaun Lockett, 21 great grandchildren and other loving relatives.
Mr. White retired from Workman’s Circle in New York, where he worked as a physical therapist assistant. His religious life was nurtured at One Heart Church in Orlando, Florida; pastored by Pastor Jesse Tirado. There he served on the Prayer Team.
Mr. White loved to sing, dance, pray and read his bible. He loved food and some of his favorites were southern food, blueberry pie and, ice cream. He also liked to watch movies to include westerns. His favorite movie was The Titanic. Other activities he enjoyed: Mini golf, fishing, going to the beach traveling and listening to music. He listened to music of his era; Mahalia Jackson, Stevie Wonder and Ray Charles. His favorite singer was Whitney Houston.
David John White will be dearly missed by many.
Unvaccinated attendants may come between 10:30 and 11:00 am on Saturday, November 20, 2021 at the Baldwin Fairchild at Chapel Hill.
