Granny passed away at the age of 92 during the morning hours of Sunday, Feb. 4, 2018 while surrounded by a contingent of grandchildren and great-grandchildren at Orlando Regional Medical Center.
Born in Willsboro, NY on July 30, 1925, Granny relocated with family to Orlando in 1977 where she provided for them while working at a Ramada Inn, IHOP Restaurant and Ranch House Steakhouse, among other places.
She was preceded in death by son Robert Michael Laware of Upstate New York.
Granny is survived by son Gerald DuPont (Blanca) of Las Vegas, and daughters Darline DuPont of Orlando and Judith Bessette (John) of Ballston Spa, NY.
She also leaves behind a legacy of 17 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren and two great-great-great-grandchildren.
Granny, who remained close with her faith and kept a lengthy prayer list, spent much of the past two decades at the Bingo Hall, her grandchildren’s sporting events, reading mystery novels, drinking “Gary Coffee” and partaking in the family’s annual Super Bowl Sunday festivities.
The family will receive friends at All Faiths Cremation and Burial Society at 4901 S. Orange Avenue on Saturday, Feb. 10 from 12:30-1:30 p.m.
Funeral services will commence at 1:30 p.m. with burial immediately following at Orlando’s Greenwood Cemetery. Proper funeral attire is requested.
