Born in New Orleans, LA, Chuck joined the US Air Force out of high school in 1952. During his 20 year military career he had several duty stations overseas, finishing at Patrick AFB in Cape Canaveral, FL where he was a Missileman, supporting the Gemini & Titan missile programs. After his retirement in 1972 Chuck began working as a construction craftsman and in his spare time he spent long hours in his much beloved workshop. Many will remember Chuck as a talented and passionate woodworker, making beautiful custom furniture for family & friends.
In 1966 Chuck met and wed Barbara Waterston Cross. He later adopted her children, Lee and Kacy, and the family lived in Orlando. During their retirement years Chuck & Barbara enjoyed traveling and made many new friends during their worldly adventures.
A naturally curious person, Chuck was a voracious reader and consumer of knowledge. He took great interest in many subjects, including astronomy, world history, aviation, mechanics, auto racing and much, much more.
Chuck was preceded in death by his beloved wife Barbara and survived by his son Lee Cross (Sandy) of St. Petersburg, FL and daughter Kacy Miller-Cross (Karen) of Colorado Springs, CO, as well as extended family and many friends. He will be fondly remembered and missed.
