Billy Frank "BF" Ball, born Jan. 5, 1933, passed away Jan. 8, 2012, age 79, peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family. Born in Columbus, GA, to Leroy and Myrtle Mae Ball, his family relocated to Orlando in 1935. By 11 years old Bill had a paper route selling newspapers in Orlando for the Sentinel Star. He became the Street Distribution Manager by age 17. He was a member of the Orlando Motor Scooter Club, even riding his scooter from Orlando to the Blue Ridge Mountains in N.C. After graduation from Orlando High School in 1951, he joined the Navy. He became a court reporter and rose to rank of Bosuns Mate 2nd class. When he left the military he stayed in Orlando where he met his wife, Peggy. Bill was a proud member of Orlando Fire Department, retiring after 24 years of service at the rank of Lieutenant. While working at Orlando FD he was also a real estate agent for Everett realty. Bill enjoyed boating and fishing, especially Snook fishing on "the lump" in Goodland, FL. He also passed his love of fishing to his family on weekend trips to East Lake Toho. Bill is survived by his loving wife of 54 years Peggy; daughter Carol Donaldson (David), daughter Patricia Fisher (Doug); son Steve Ball (Yvonne); granddaughter Sarah Fisher; grandson Corey Ball (Breanne), grandson Bryan Fisher; granddaughter Kathryn Fisher; granddaughter Amanda Ball; great-grandchildren C.J. and Brayden; sister Dorothy Lovell; sister Betty Millner (Don); sister Diana Harding (David); brother Doug Ball (deceased), and numerous family and friends. Family will receive friends and family from 6-9 PM, Thursday, Jan. 12, at Carey Hand Funeral Home, 2811 E. Curry Ford Rd., Orlando. Funeral Services will he held at 1 PM on Friday, Jan. 13 at the same funeral home.
