Antonio Cruz

Antonio Cruz (Tony), Age 89 of Orlando, Florida passed away on Saturday, October 15, 2022. He was born in San German Puerto Rico on March 30, 1933. Antonio had minimal education because he had to help with his family’s livelihood, which is what most families did during those times. He was married to Lucia Cruz for 67 years, whom he met in New York while working in the hotel industry as a bartender. Tony as he was called by his customers met many famous people throughout his bartending career. He was considered the best bartender and his customers would only want him to make their cocktails. Though he worked in New York City, he resided in the Bronx for 43 years prior to moving to Florida when he retired at age 65 in 1999. He wanted to work again for a bit and decided to work as a greeter at the dealership where his grandson worked for a couple of years and then decided to just be retired. He was what you would call a gentlemen’s gentlemen!

He was survived by his children Frank Munoz, Nancy Ellis (Paul), Nilda Figueroa (Jerry) , Jose A. Cruz and Nilsa Cruz. His grandchildren Frank Munoz Jr, Silvia Munoz-Torres, Francesca Munoz, Nicole A. Schinn, Samantha L. Caballero, Jeremy Figueroa, Erik P. Cruz, Joseph Cruz and Jeremy Cruz. Great grandchildren Angelena, Robert Jr, Amanda, Kristen, Brittanie, Cassandra, Arianna, Aniya, Tatiana and Parker. Great-Great grandchildren Leilani, Emelia, Mason and Ocean. He is survived by his only brother Demetrio Cruz.

Funeral arrangements will be held at 3pm, October 18, 2022 at Family Funeral Care.
