Our loving husband, dad, grandpa, great grandpa, uncle, brother, and friend Angel Rafael Cintron, passed away in the comfort of his home surrounded by his loving family peacefully on July 31, 2020. He was born on October 2, 1937 in Aibonito, Puerto Rico. His family experienced some of the great highs and challenging lows but Angel always found the best in things.
Angel shared stories of his humble beginnings growing up in Puerto Rico, like being barefoot until the age of twelve. As a child he enjoyed things like farming and horse back riding. At the age of 16 he chose to enlist in the US Army in order to serve his country. After his service he went to New York where he found his passion for cooking. Later meeting the love of his life Ada and beginning their family together.
Angel’s green thumb flourished when he moved to Florida. He enjoyed growing vegetables, herbs, fruits and flowers in his backyard. Just about anything he touched would bloom. There was nothing better than a fresh fruit from Angel’s yard.
As his family grew, he made it his plan to share the traditions he was raised with. Angel had a knack for making sure his loved ones ate even when they didn’t want to. From signature meals to breakfast for his grandchildren he cooked each meal with love and passion. Holidays were always a feast because he made sure there was pernil, turkey, and ham. Whether you shared a meal or one cafecito with Angel you left filled with joy from a good time.
Angel lived an extraordinary life devoted to raising a harmonious and loving family. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Ada Roura Cintron two sons, Rafael & Edward, and lots of grandchildren and great grandchildren. He will be laid to rest along side his beloved granddaughter Jolie. Together in heaven.
