Alric Renrick Ross, fondly called “Renny” by family and friends, passed away in Orlando, Florida on August 11, 2022. After his battle with Alzheimer’s Disease. He was 84 after being lovingly cared for by his wife and children.
Alric was originally from Carrea, St. Vincent and the Grenadines and grew up in southern town of Arnos Vale, SVG.
At 18, Alric bid his family adieu and migrated to London, England where he attended Woodgreen Technical College which was instrumental in his career as a Steamfitter in both England and the United States.
In 1966 in London, he married his lifetime love, Jane. In 1970 they migrated to New York City and welcomed their children, son Colin Renrick Ross and daughter Oriel N. Ross McKinney, joining his eldest daughter Marilyn St. Hilaire.
Alric’s success driven personality, high work ethic, and devoted regard for his family took his work beyond New York, to places like Chicago Illinois, and Canada. With a tenacious attitude, he overcame many obstacles and continued to thrive.
Alric often enjoyed home improvement projects, activities, and trips with his family. Alric notably had a special place in his heart for all his nieces and nephews and he and his wife, Jane are highly regarded and appreciated by them as the “pillars” of the family. He was fortunate to return to St. Vincent and London several times to reconnect with family.
Being present to those in his life and mentoring young people was a meaningful passion. Alric also enjoyed golfing, gardening, reading, and working with his hands. He was indeed a Jack of All Trades.
Alric was preceded in death by his mother Wilhelmina Collins, his father James Ross, sisters Leontine Roban and Eden Ross, and brother Cardon Ross. He is survived by his wife Jane A.
