Judith A Gannon

Judith (Judy) Gannon age 82 of Orland Park, Illinois passed away on June 13, 2024. Judy was the beloved daughter of the late Marie and Walter Gannon, and a loving sister to James Gannon (Barbara) and Walter Gannon (Nancy). Judy was an amazing aunt to her nieces Christine Doolin(John), Ann Marie Koss, and nephew, James Gannon (Shelly), who lovingly called her PAJ (Pretty Aunt Judy). Judy played a big role in their lives as she watched them grow up and guided them, and was also very loved by their children as well.

Judy started her career at Leo Burnett in Chicago and later was employed at the Cook County Sheriff's Department, as a secretary until her retirement. Throughout her career, Judy worked hard, made many friends, juggled a busy social life, and cherished her family and friends.

Judy was known by many for her generosity and hospitality, and her home was a welcoming haven to everyone. She never forgot a birthday, and always made those around her feel special with her love and kindness. Judy enjoyed planning family parties, cookie bakes, dinners, and hosting holidays. With her witty banter and sense of humor, they were special times for all who attended.

In the past few years, Judy battled many serious medical conditions. She did so with courage, faith, and humor. She never complained about discomfort or pain and took it all in stride. Judy will be dearly missed by all whose lives she touched.

A visitation for Judy will be held on Friday, June 21, 2024, at Orland Funeral Home, 9900 West 143rd Street, Orland Park, IL 60462 from 3PM - 8PM. Family and friends to meet at St. Julie Billiart Catholic Church on Saturday, June 22, 2024 at 10:45 AM, located at 7399 West 159th Street, Tinley Park, IL, 60477 for a Mass of Christian burial. Interment will be private.
