Carol Lavonne Ritchey

Carol Ritchey, beloved mother, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother crossed over to her eternal home in Heaven on December 30, 2024, at the age of 80. Born on November 11, 1944, in Jacksonville, FL.

Carol was a devoted mother to her four children: Samuel McAfee (Pam), Carrie Weintraut, Sean McAfee (Theresa) and Tuesdi Sweatt. Her legacy will forever live on through her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who adored her deeply.

Carol was known for her warmth, kindness and unshakable love for her family. She created a home filled with comfort and joy for those fortunate enough to be a part of her world. She took an active role in the lives of her grandchildren, taking them on vacations, teaching them to swim, taking to theme parks and having countless sleepovers. She loved most of all, spending time with her family.

Carol’s journey on this earth was one marked by love, compassion and faith in God. Her Passing has left a huge void in the hearts of her family, friends and many more whose lives were touched by her. Her strength, humor and unwavering faith in the goodness of others will remain a guiding light for her family and friends. She leaves behind a legacy of love and a lifetime of memories that will be treasured forever.

She is preceded in death by her mother Ruby Romey, father Robert Romey, husband, Jeff Ritchey and Sister Bobbie Gard.

A celebration of life will be held in honor of Carol’s life, please contact the family for more information. The family kindly requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to a charity of your choice in Carol’s memory, continuing her tradition of spreading kindness and compassion.
