Mr. Hickey was born on June 29, 1947 in Brooklyn, New York, the son of William W. and Ruth Mahoney Hickey. He was united in marriage to Wendy Shean for sixteen years. He was retired from the U.S. Army. He was a volunteer with the Volusia County Sheriff's Dept. of C.O.P., a Past Commander of the American Legion, Treasurer of V-CEP, a life-member of DAV, a member of the V.F.W. Post # 8093 of DeBary and the Deltona Veterans Museum. He was also a member of Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church in Deltona.
He is survived by his wife, Wendy; two daughters, Denise Hickey of Apopka, FL and Ann Marie; a stepdaughter, Ann Marie Carrube and a stepson, Joseph Carrube; nine grandchildren; a brother, Timothy Hickey of Deltona, FL; three sisters, Maureen, Eileen and Kathleen; several nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, December 28th at 2:00 pm at Deltona Memorial Funeral Home, 1295 Saxon Boulevard, Orange City, PH: 386-775-4260 with Father Frank Cerio officiating. Military honors will be provided by the U.S. Army and the V.F.W. Post # 8093 of DeBary.
