Biggs, Virginia Massey 91, of Deltona, Florida passed away peaceful, Saturday, May 23, 2020. Virginia, a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, affectionately known as Nana died after a long struggle with many health issues. She was born in Etowah, Tennessee on July 19, 1928, to John Wesley and Grace Lilly Massey. She grew up in Knoxville, Tennessee in a loving family that included siblings Hazel Ling, Charles Massey, Mary Perry (Inez), Katherine Flannagan and Johnny Massey. She was raised in Knoxville, Tennessee, but later married and moved to Atlanta, Georgia for 30 years. She was a hard worker, who was a feature writer for The Atlanta News Journal, served as press secretary for a governor, owned and operated several Employment Agencies in Atlanta as well as Daytona Beach. After moving from Georgia, she settled in Florida. Upon retirement, she worked in the Real Estate business selling properties and later sold time shares as their top saleswoman and closer. She retired at age 75. She enjoyed reading biographies, loved to garden, and was an avid collector of antiques. She had many talents, attributes, and a good Christian who loved the Lord. She was a member of the Barnett Memorial United Methodist Church. She is survived by her four children, Terry McVey of Van Buren, Arkansas, Debbie Bishop of Jasper, Georgia, Caroline Morgan (David) of Deltona, Florida and April VanKleeck (Clyde) of Deltona, Florida. She was adored by her 12 grandchildren Ivy Grace, Lacy Rose, Zackery, Amanda, Tyler, Johnny, Brandon, Matthew, Katelynn, Joshua, Patty, Teresa ,13 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews she loved. Life will never be the same for those who knew her, but her example and life’s lessons will last forever.
A graveside funeral will be held for family at Deltona Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home on Tuesday May 26th 2020 at 2 o’clock.
A Celebration of Life will be scheduled in the future at Barnett Memorial United Methodist church.
