GRANDMA...You have been the greatest person in my life. I will always cherish the things that we have shared and the times we have spent together. You mean the world to me and I know that we cherished something together nobody will ever know nor will they understand. You were my rock when I needed you. I'll miss all the things we did together when I was younger, up to a couple years ago...picking wild flowers on the side of the road, shopping trips, going to jazzercise with you, going to the park and river, going out to lunch, going to the movies, going to the springs, taking you to the beach for the last time, putting flowers on grandpas grave, making waffles when I stayed at the house and eating breakfast with my favorite spoon, playing out in the yard whether it be bad minton or playing ball of some sort...The list goes on and on!!! I have so many memories and I am truly blessed knowing that I was able to be there for your final moments on this earth...that's the way it was meant to be! I love you so much grandma and a BIG part of you will always live within me. My only regret is not having you here with us to see your precious great grandson be born. He'll never know the grandma I knew but I will never let him forget where he came from and a big part of that is you. I love you and I miss you every day

Nana, I find it hard to believe that you are no longer with us, my memories of your summer visits are of a spunky lady that could run circles around us.  I am so glad we got to see you on your last visit to Mass and was able to spend time with your great grandchildren.  You will be missed and always loved. Your now with Grampa, rest in peace.

I'm so glad that we got to finally meet you, and that my father was able to visit with you over the last 10 years. I only wish I had more time to get to know you better.  You and George (Grandpa) must be looking over your 4 children and smiling and thinking this is how it is supposed to be! Rest in peace Nana.

grandmother, It's only when we truly know and understand that we have a limited time on earth -- and that we have no way of knowing when our time is up -- that we will begin to live each day to the fullest, as if it was the only one we had. I will miss you.  I too have many fond memories of the summers we spent together.  Especially the summer of 1978 when I got to visit for a month with you and grampa and 1997 when I brought your great-grandsons, Ben & Brian to visit and we went to Disneyworld together.  I wish you could have met your newest great-great grandaughter, my 3 month old grandaughter, Dresden Willah Anne.  May she grow into a strong woman like the role model I had for a grandmother growing up.  Again I will miss you.  Until we meet again, may God bless you and keep you.

Nana, It saddens me to hear of your passing but find comfort in knowing that you lived a long life and that you are at peace and with Grampa after all these years since he's been gone. My fondest memories are the letters that we wrote back and forth with you and Grampa, all the summers you came to Mass. to visit, and also in 1989 when we came to visit you with Brandyn and Jessie (they were only babies) I am glad we got to see you last year at Moms and you got to meet your great grandchild (my grand baby) Kaylee. Dear Mom,
I was truly blessed throughout life in being able to be with you and share our times together with family and friends along the way. Life has its changes and we hope to honor and  celebrate your life with our memories and times together. God truly blessed us all by allowing the Hospice family to join ours to assist with this transition. My greatest honor was being able to assist you when you let me. Not to mention: the joy I got the first and the last time we rode on my motorcycle.

January 6,1923 thru January 14, 2012


Ms. Lois Appleford-Thomas was born in Massachusetts to 
George and Bessie Appleford. In 1923, she married George Thomas.
They had 4 children, 15 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren with 2 due 
To be born in February 2012, and 2 great-great grandchildren.

Thru her years she was lovingly known as Daughter, Friend, Best Friend, Wife, Mother, Mom, MA, Granny, Little Nanny, and Lois. 

She only wanted each person to do the best that they can each day, knowing that life leads us all on different paths or schedules. She truly enjoyed each member of her family for the times they were able to share. She was thankful for her family and friends that assisted her with life's journey along the way. 

She did not wish for anyone to mourn over her passing, here on earth, as she believed that this is just a New Beginning. Our Heavenly Father, granted her wishes, near the end. They were: to let her have clarity, to say a few words that she needed to say, re-affirm her Faith in God, her Lord and savior, in whom she believed in, and to be surrounded by friends and family during her lifetime. She has been Re-born into the Glory of the Heavenly Father and family.

She wanted each of you to Remember, the times that each of you shared with her. 
Regardless of how much time each of us got to spend with her it was all precious and meaningful. Celebrate her in your words, thoughts and prayers. Share your memories with each other as she has shared her life with each of you. Celebrate by passing on these wonderful memories. Each life truly affects another. Try to remember the joy and goodness that each time together brings.

Dear Mom, We are so sorry you had to leave us, but we will treasure all our memories of you! Trips to Perkins in the big truck and how you smiled when you successfully climbed into the front seat! We are so happy we could be with you on the beginning of your journey into God's arms. Bless the people from hospice who made your last hours more comfortable. We will always love you.
