Larry Raymond Salter, age 78 of Debary, FL was taken to our Lord peacefully on June 11, 2021. He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Kathryn Carolyn Salter; daughter, Silena Marie Pope; brothers, Franklin H. Salter and Jerry Lamar Salter; grandchildren, Diana Marie Jenkins and Jackie Earl Pope III and an extended loving family.
Preceded in death by his father, Lester Gilbert Salter; mother, Bama Leigh Salter; brothers, Gilbert Lamar Salter and Thad H. Salter; sisters, Nellie Mae Barber and Jeanette Mabel Robison.
Born in Albany, GA to Lester and Bama Salter on November 9, 1942 Larry was one of seven children. They moved to Orlando, FL during his childhood. Larry’s talents emerged at a young age when he started playing drums and later with his brother, Jerry Salter, they enjoyed playing at local establishments and for friends and family. His love of music carried on through the years and you could often see his hands drumming to the music unknowingly.
Larry loved his family and was his happiest at family gatherings, small or large. His favorite holiday was Christmas where you were most certain to get a gag gift, he picked just for you.
There will be a small private family memorial. The family requests in lieu of flowers, that donations be made in support of Halifax Health - Hospice.
