I’ve known Andy for fifty five years, since High School. We ever got our first jobs at Bellevue Hospital because our fathers worked there.  Later in our careers, Andy went into the NYC Corrections Dept. and I went into the NYPD.  Andy was like a brother to me. We were so close that I asked  Andy and Aida to be Godparents to my youngest son Jason. Andy was a great man that  always put family first.  He was a God fearing man and will be dearly missed. Enjoy your Mansion in Heaven Andy. Our deepest condolences to Aida and family. You are in our thoughts and prayers.

Me and my grandpa always loved celebrating Christmas together. 🩷

This brings me such great sadness. Mr. Fontanez was my instructor in the academy of NYCDOC. He was highly respected & loved by anyone he came into contact with. I messaged him a few months ago regarding to send my love to one of his coworker through FB, he replied that he would. Before that on Christmas he messaged me Ramadan Mubarak & told him that he was early. I messaged him that Ramadan is not till April this year. To have him pass on Ramadan, our blessed month & to send the greeting before he passed is something I’ll never forget. 😭 I’ll miss him occasionally sending messages of inspiration…you rest now my Brother, see you in Paradise. 💙 🤲🏽

Andy was my uncle and God father. I spent a lot of time with him and my cousins when I was little. I remember being so excited to visit Uncle Andy's apartment because I had the most fun there with him and my cousins. Whenever we would talk, he was always positive and had a lot of wisdom to share about life and God. He reached out to me not too long ago to see how I was doing, to be supportive, and to give advice. This is a sad time for all of us, but I'm happy to see that he touched so many lives. Sending love to the rest of my family ❤️ 

I met your dad 24 years ago today. He was a true professional. But other than training I never really communicated with him until I retired two years ago and came to Christ. He saw a story I posted about Jesus and from there on I knew he was a man of God. Interacting with him and his love of Jesus is something I will miss. He’s truly in a better place. 

I met your dad 24 years ago today. He was a professional about his work. But it wasn’t until I retired two years ago that I came to Christ and he commented on a story I posted. Every since then he always connected with my post about Jesus. He was truly a man of God from what I could tell and a pleasure to communicate with. He and his love of God will be missed. 

My deepest sympathies for you and your loving family. Me and Andres go back many years in Correction. Always a stand up guy and a beautiful soul he will be missed. May he rest in peace.

It was almost 43 years ago that we took this job and graduated together and 43 years later we are still friends and live 10 minutes away from each other. Since GOD took you to heaven that day it’s been difficult for me. I miss you my friend . My tears  flowing down my face shows my love of your friendship. But I know your in heaven cause many times we talked about it when we were together in your house. Maybe GOD willing I will see you again my friend and brother. I thank GOD for letting me meet you in my lifetime. Glory to GOD!

Andres and I worked in the academy together. He was often that calm voice of reason. But don’t be fooled. He was not the one to play with. If he was on your side you had a powerful ally.   I remember him as a quiet intelligent man of god. He will be missed. Well done good and worthy servant 

Dad really enjoyed this dinner birthday celebration for my mom.  He raved about the food at Fogo de Chao for days.

My dad loved to go out for dinner and a movie on birthdays. As soon as I called with an invite he would say " Just tell me what time to be ready, for pick up".
