The many fun things we did with you bring back wonderful memories. Family parties  at our house and Teri and Pete's, three trips to Alaska Salmon fishing, a week together in Seattle, eating drinking and fishing and putting out a house afire next door in Crestline.
Fixing my roll top desk, fixing the 2 sleigh back beds that my parents used, making a table out of my left over chopping block,Providing us with all the wine at every party, Laughing at each others jokes,you always had a new one. Allowing me to relight your business facilities was my pleasure. You were always there to help anyone and add a sparkle to the day.  You were a special man who will be missed by all of us.

Mr. Smits certainly left his mark on this world. He was a very generous, kind, hard working, and a fun guy to have around. His family and friends will certainly miss him but he will not be forgotten. Love and prayers to his family.

I AM DEEPLY BOTHERED BY THE LOSS OF MY DEAR FRIEND, PETE!
WE FIRST MET IN THE LATE 60'S WHILE HE WAS DOING A CONTRACT JOB IN THE PHILLIPENE'S.  HE CALLED WITH SOME CONCERNS ABOUT HIS ABILITY TO USE HIS LINES OF CREDIT WHILE OUT OF THE COUNTRY.   WE GOT THINGS WORKED OUT FOR HIM AND WHEN HE RETURNED STATESIDE HE AND I MET FOR THE FIRST TIME IN PERSON.  WE BECAME GREAT FRIENDS IMMEDIATELY AND WE ENJOYED MANY TRIPS TOGETHER OVER THE NEX SEVERAL YEARS.
WE , ALONG WITH OUR WIVES, WANDA   AND ROSE ENJOYED SEVERAL OCEAN CRUISES AND WE FISHED IN ALASKA SEVERAL TIMES AND MEXICO  ONCE, WE WENT TO "GREAT BEAR LAKE INSIDE THE ARCTIC CIRCLE ON ONE TRIP.  WE TRAVELED TO NIAGRA FALLS, BAR HARBOR MAINE, NY,CITY AND MANY OTHER CITIES SIGHT SEEING WITH OUR WIVES. WE HAD HOMES AT BULLHEAD CITY, AZ. WHERE WE ENJOYED THE COLORADO RIVER,BOATING ETC.
WE WILL FOREVER MISS HIS ALWAYS SMILING FACE.  WANDA  AND I MISS HIM AND ROSE VERY MUCH,( WE NOW LIVE IN TEXAS)

Pete spent his whole life dedicated to Rose and his family including his grandkids.  The values and memories he passed on to all of you will never be forgotten. It was a pleasure and honor knowing your husband and father.  I always enjoyed visiting with him and found great comfort in the personality, character, and demeanor.  I admired his great love for his family and friends.  He always made me feel welcomed and part of his family.   I will miss him.
Please know that I am praying for your entire family that the Holy Spirit stays with you all and provides you with strength, peace, and comfort.  
I sincerely thank you for sharing your father with me.

Tonight when you look up, don't think of them as Stars.

I cant tell you how much Pete was loved by us.  Pete was the most loving, caring, giving, fun, funny, and yes serious (in a good way).  I have so many great memories we had with Pete and Rose and our friends in common.  One of the many times that stands out is our Panama Canal Cruise, Pete, Rose and Dave, Kathi and me and Tommy.  Pete couldn't get over how much fun us girls had every night after a few nights of that while going up the elevator, Pete said how much have you girls had to drink? I turned to him and I said "none" he was so surprised, but what he didn't realize was, we all just had so much fun together we didn't always have to drink to have fun with Pete, not that we didn't sometimes! haha  To Rose and all of his family, our thoughts and prayers are with you and may your memories help with your days ahead.
