Dennis E. Wafford, passed away at Loma Linda University Medical Center on December 28, 2017. He was 67 years old. Dennis was born in Oakland, California to Claude "Beau" and Jean Wafford on January 6, 1950.
His family relocated to southern California and he graduated from La Puente High School in 1969. He became a firefighter in 1972 at the Ontario Fire Department. He was one of the very first paramedics with the department in 1976. He retired in 2001 after 28 years of service to the community.
Dennis enjoyed sports, especially baseball and football. He was involved in Little League, Pony League, and Colt League. He played football in high school.
He is survived by two sons, Brian (and his wife Michelle and their children, Marissa and Aiden), and Kevin (and his wife Katie and their children, Elizabeth, Samuel, Lydia, Andrew, and Evelyn). Dennis also leaves behind three sisters, Marilyn Carlson (of Rockford, Illinois), Cyndi Dosier (of Sun City, Arizona), and Lori Branning (of Rockford, Illinois). Among those that will dearly miss him are special friends, Chuck and Marlene Cerbasi (of La Verne, California), and his fiancé, Beverly "Tana" Weston (of Rancho Cucamonga, California.
Dennis is preceded in death by his parents, Beau and Jean Wafford, and many cousins and friends.
There will be a visitation at Draper Mortuary, 811 N. Mountain Avenue, Ontario, California on Thursday, January 11, 2018 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A funeral service will take place at Draper Mortuary on Friday, January 12, 2018 beginning at 11:00 AM. Interment service will be at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, 21300 Via Verde Drive, Covina, California on Friday, January 12, 2018 at 3:00 PM.
