I knew Clairece from Azusa College (now APU) where we were in school together.  Her husband Gene was the basketball coach and we were on the girls' basketball team.  We practiced at Cal Baptist and wound our way through the hills in a station wagon, always a slightly dizzying trip.  She and her sisters were also part of the group of friends that got together for lunch once a year , even after we graduated, for over 50 years.  It was a special group of college friends who had bonded well.  Clairece was a good friend and will be missed.

I met Clairece in 1988 when I became the school secretary at Doris Dickson Elementary School & I have treasured her friendship throughout the many years. Clairece was a wonderful 5th grade teacher.  She was very much respected & loved by Dickson students, parents & staff. I have greatly missed our yearly lunches at Mimi’s with some awesome 5th grade teachers pictured in our last time enjoying lunch together (Clairece, Barbara Forsyth/Reading Specialist, Emilie Kain, Erlinda & Nancy Nadolny) . . . Rest In Peace my dear friend. 🙏🏻🕊🙏🏻

How many people are lucky enough to say they worked with their best friend for over 25 years? Clairece and I started teaching together in Chino at Gird Elementary and then Doris Dickson when the new school opened. She loved her students, and they all loved their “Mrs. Hallett.” She brightened up the teachers’ room with her smile, family stories, home-grown bouquets of sweet peas, and delicious baked goods. Our friendship continued after we retired with catch-up phone calls, e-mails and luncheons at Mimi’s. I was lucky to have known her and miss her every day.

Dear Hallett Family,
One of my favorite memories of Clairece is her attending a tea for my daughter, Kalina, who shares the same birthday (July 25). Kalina insisted Clairece had to be there
 Clairece came & had tea with all of the little girls at the party that day! 

I also have many other memories of Clairece, hosting parties, in Bible study, & camping with the church.  She was very loved & will be very missed!

She was a wonderful, thoughtful Christian lady and will be missed. My thoughts and prayers are with Duane and Dale.

The Hallett family has been a part of my family, the Prestons, since  they lived next to my aunt Ruth Cooper on Phillips Blvd.  I remember cousins playing together, although I think the boys were older than me.  Clairece was my son John Sandhagen's 5th grade teacher at Gird School.  When Doris Dickson school opened up there she was again as we were teachers there.  She was always helpful and positive.   She was such a lovely lady.  It was nice keeping up with her from mutual friends.  She has left a beautiful impression on many students and families.  What a wonderful Christian woman. Ms. Clairece has been my amazing, awesome, loving dear friend  for 
over 70 years.  We have enjoyed so many special enjoyable times to-gether, trips to Arkansas, Tennessee, Grand Ole Oprey, Henderson 
visited T. B.N. went on a tour of  Conway Twitty home, at Christmas time, Hawaii , many church activities, concerts etc, lots and  lots of wonderful times together. I will always  cherish.  My fri end had such  a loving spirit and heart, she was such a blessing to me and in my life, I will truely miss her.  I do rejoice in  knowing she is with Our LORD and with her beloved Husband and all her family and wonderful friends who welcomed her home.Ms Clariece was a beautiful blessing each day to everyone she met. So thankful she was such an important part of my life.  She also made my DrillTeam Outfit for high school, she had so many talents, she was an AMAZING LADY I will truely miss her. Dear Hallett Family, we loved your mom, and grandma so much! Wish we could be there to honor her with you! So many wonderful memories! But the one I love the most is the wonderful gathering she hosted and planned for us when we moved to Oregon.She was so good about checking on me during Chemo and our “wonderful phone  visits”. We loved her . Please know we are praying for all of you!

I will always remember Clairece with a smile on her face and a fun personality.  Her love for people came out in the many parties at her house.  She was always concerned about others and how they were doing.  When I called her on the phone she always answered with "what's up?"  Clairece will be very missed and never forgotten.  Our sympathy and prayers to her family that she loved so much and was so proud of each of you.  May God give you peace and comfort in these days ahead.
