Charlene is survived by Benny Gurrola with whom she shared her life for more than twenty years. Over their time together she and Benny enjoyed their home in Fontana along with traveling and time with both of their extended families.
Charlene also leaves her son Graham Jackson and granddaughters Shelby and Courtney Jackson. The birth of her granddaughters were new joys in her life and Charlene loved them both and cherished her time with them.
She was preceded in death by her son Aaron Jackson and parents Irene and Charles Stockdale.
Born in Pomona, California Charlene attended Pomona schools, graduating from Ganisha High School in 1965. In December 1967 Charlene married Bruce Jackson and in 1976 they welcomed their first son Graham, followed in 1978 by their second son, Aaron. Charlene was always game for adventures and the family enjoyed skiing, water sports at the Colorado river and regular trips to the beach for surfing.
In 1979 Charlene began her career with the Ontario Public Employees Federal Credit Union eventually taking on the position as Manager/CEO.
With the opportunities provided by deregulation Charlene became the driving force behind the growth and success of the credit union. In 1989 the credit union was located in a room in the basement of the Ontario City Hall with assets of $1.6 million. At the time of Charlene’s retirement in 2018, after a total of thirty-nine years of service, the credit union had grown to $20 million in assets. The credit union moved to its current location at Laurel Ave and B St in Ontario in 1992. The project to take advantage of the larger space was spearheaded by Charlene and, due to her determination, the result is the financial institution it is today that continues to serve a membership of primarily City of Ontario employees and their family members.
As a mother, partner, and professional Charlene touched more lives than she likely gave herself credit for.
