Ann Bessette – October 02, 1928 – July 30, 2010
Ann was born in Boston, Massachusetts. Her given name is Angelina, but she preferred to be called Ann. She and her twin sister, Katie were the 7 and 8th children of nine. When Ann was 16 she went to work at Kennedy Butter and Eggs. When she was 17 she met Andrew Bessette. They dated for 2 years and married on May 23rd, 1948 in a beautiful double wedding with Katie and her groom, Tom. Andrew was in school to become an electronic engineer, a career which would take Ann and Andy west in 1951 with their first born, Andrew. They lived in San Diego for a time before moving to the Pomona area in 1952. They purchased a new home in Ontario in 1953 and soon had another son, Robert. The boys kept coming with James in 1955 and Thomas in 1958. In 1964, Ann had a daughter, Jacqueline. The family was now complete and never failed to include a pet or two. Ann and Andy were busy with children, but they also took time to socialize with their friends while square dancing and bowling. Ann also loved to play bingo with her sister and friends.
Ann was a devoted wife and mother. The kids are forever grateful to her for being the kind of mom who was there when you got home from school. We didn’t like it then, but today we are so glad she stayed in ‘our business’ and helped us learn wrong from right. Mom will be missed, but and we are glad she is with God now and can rest after a life well done.
