Ronald E. Bouchard, 86 of Milford, NY finally went back home on October 8, 2019 after a long struggle with Alzheimer’s. Born in New Brunswick, Canada he moved to United States in late 1950s and became a U.S. citizen in 1968.
Ron is survived by his wife, Joyce of 58 years, daughters Bonita Bouchard and Theresa (Scott) Pickwick, sons Michael (Shelley) Bouchard Sr. and Ricky Bouchard, nine grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, brother Leopold Bouchard, sister Marguerite Caron, and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by two children, seven brothers, three sisters and parents, Alfred and Leanne Bouchard.
Ron had many jobs over his life, from lumber camp cook helper at age 8, uranium miner, electrical tower constructor, carpenter, dairy farmer, and general contractor up to age 78. He took pride in doing a job well, even in his 70s he could put many younger men to shame.
Ron and Joyce were foster parents to about 250 children over 25 years. He really enjoyed the little kids.
A special thank you to Holly Cole and the people at Chase Memorial Nursing Home in New Berlin, NY for their loving care and support.
