Josephine E. Markovich

She was born in Gary, West Virginia, the daughter of John and Gabrielle (Volk) Markovich.

A world traveler, Josephine enjoyed visiting other countries as well as exploring the US. She was fond of gardening and photography, and volunteered in many organizations in the Oneonta area.

She spent her 42 year career with NY Telephone, retiring as an Engineering Clerk in 1985.

She is survived by her nephew Joseph R. Rohacevich and his wife Linda Rohacevich; and great nieces and nephews, Joseph N. Rohacevich and wife Kimberly, Tanya Rohacevich, and Jonathan Rohacevich and partner Tina Fisher.

She was predeceased by her mother Gabriella Marks; and her sister Julia Rohacevich and brother in law Alex Rohacevich.

As per Josephine’s wishes, there will be no calling hours or service.

In lieu of flowers, donations are asked to be made to Super Heroes Humane Society, 697 Winney Hill Road, Oneonta, NY 13820, The Oneonta Boys and Girls Club, 70 River St #2358, Oneonta, or to a local charity of your choice.
