Diane C. Welton-Calchi

She was born Aug. 26, 1956, in Brooklyn, the daughter of John and Helen (Hicks) Welton.

On May 1, 1999, Diane married William Calchi in Davenport.

Diane was a laborer at Amphenol in Sidney for many years until her retirement.

Diane was a kind and generous woman who put everyone ahead of herself. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend who kept her family close to her heart and touched the lives of all she met. One of the greatest joys in life was spending time with her precious grandchildren. She will be greatly missed.

Diane is survived by her husband, William Calchi of Davenport Center; two children, John and Rebecca Welton of Oneonta and Lauren Heustis of Davenport Center; her mother, Helen Hill of Davenport; her stepfather, Randy Hill of Oneonta; three grandchildren, Juliette Welton of Oneonta and Catherine Welton and Dominic Heustis of Davenport Center; one sister, Arlene and Paul Goscinski of Long Island; and one sister-in-law, Diane "Daphanie" Calchi of Liberty.

She was predeceased by her father, John Welton; and one aunt and uncle, Catherine and Leonard Blau.

Calling hours are 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 13, at the Bookhout Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oneonta. Memorial services will immediately follow at 1 p.m.
