Tony leaves behind his wife, Bonnie Nelson of the family home in Morgan, MN, and his mother, Irene Nelson, whom he loved dearly. Tony also leaves behind his amazing children, Joshua Krueger of Salina, KS, Jenna (Cody) Campbell of Morgan, MN, Jarret (Melissa) Nelson, Keyes Nelson, Bailey Nelson, and Bastion Nelson all of Nebraska City, NE, Bonnita Steinbeisser of Mankato, MN and Nadia Meyers-Nelson of Morgan, MN. Tony also leaves behind his eighteen grandchildren who were especially important to him, as he loved being a grandpa.
Tony had many brothers and a sister who survived him. Matthew McCann of Boston, MA, Jerry Garvis (Deb Johnson) of MN, Robert Garvis (Denise) of Denison, IA, Jon Garvis, Dave Garvis, Daniel Garvis, and Suzanne McMurphy all of Omaha, NE, as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Tony’s beloved father, Marvin W. Nelson and his grandmother, Irene Nybo, preceded him in death.
There will be a Memorial Service on Saturday, January 7, 2023, at 1pm at Westlawn-Hillcrest Funeral Home chapel, and then the burial in the Westlawn-Hillcrest Memorial Park. The address is 5701 Center Street, Omaha, NE 68106.
