Richard Darryl Moeller

Richard, also lovingly known as Dick, was born on March 12th, 1942, to Fritz Moritz Moeller and Merle Agnes Moeller in Omaha, NE. Dick graduated from Omaha Tech High School in 1960. After serving in Vietnam with the U.S. Army, Dick returned to Omaha and began a career as a Sheet Metal Worker Journeyman. He was a proud member of Sheet Metal Workers Union Local 3 in Omaha for over 60 years.

After retiring in 2005, Dick spent his time working on home improvement projects at his house and everyone else’s. He also enjoyed a variety of hobbies and spending time with family.

Dick was preceded in passing by his parents Fritz and Merle Moeller, and his brothers Moritz and Tom Moeller. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Rosa, his four children Lorena Hernandez, Maria D. Hernandez, Darryl Lee Moeller, Mary Ruth (Moeller) Garcia; son-in-law Efrain Garcia, Jr.; his 12 grandchildren Seth, Melissa, Alonzo, Sofia, Vanessa, Marco-Antonio, Isaiah, Alexis, Tomas, Emmi, Joie, and Cai; and 11 great grandchildren Jackson, Taliah, Mihno, Esai, Seth, Benicio, Jayden, Adalina, Reina, Aidan, and Jade.

Family and friends are welcome to attend a celebration of Dick’s life to be held on July 6th, 2023, at Westlawn-Hillcrest Funeral Home 5701 Center St Omaha, NE 68106. The visitation will be from 2:00pm-3:00pm, the memorial service will start at 3:00pm, with a reception immediately following the service.

Words cannot express how grateful and blessed we are to our family and friends, and the medical staff at Nebraska Medicine-UNMC for the support and comfort provided to him and us during his last days. Dick was loved deeply, and we take comfort in knowing that he is now at peace.
