Patricia Irene Brinkman, age 78, of Omaha, Nebraska passed away on Monday, November 29, 2021, after the vehicle she was driving was struck by another vehicle while she was stopped at the traffic signal. She was predeceased in death by parents Myron and Irene Carey, loving husband Herbert Brinkman, niece Susan Irene George. Survived by daughter Diane (Jeff) Landon, son Lloyd (special friend Connie) Brinkman, sisters Betty Jean (Ron) George and Barbara (Paul) Jansen; grandsons Dan Putjenter, Matt (Tabby) Brinkman, Bryan (Ashley) Brinkman, granddaughter Melanie Landon; nephew Jim (Kim) Jansen and nieces Kathleen (Ryan) Moats, and Jeanne (Brandon) Taylor, 9 great nieces and nephews; Cousins Thomas W. Murphy, Jr. (Shirley), Rosemary (Bob) Lane, Kathy (Craig) Slowinski and Jim (Holly) Murphy and many, many close friends.
Patricia attended Holy Name elementary school and remained friends with those classmates through these many years. She attained her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Education and taught in the Millard Public Schools at Cottonwood, Cody Elementary Schools and Kiewit Middle School for 35 years before retiring. She has been very active on the Millard School Education Board. In her sorority of Beta Sigma Phi, this year she was chosen Woman of the year, and she has held many offices in her sorority chapters through the years. She has served as an election worker at the Douglas County election polls for many years. She was a former active member of St. Gerald’s Catholic Church until her move to a new residence when she found her new home in St. Robert Bellarmine Church.
Patricia will be dearly missed by so many, but never forgotten.
