Michael Eugene Miller, affectionately known as Mike, passed away on July 13, 2024, in his hometown of Omaha, Nebraska. Born to Barbara and Gordon Miller on January 12, 1976, Mike was a cherished member of the Omaha community throughout his 48 years.
In 2022, Mike married the love of his life, Danyle Tomlinson, and together, they joined their children to create a family and a life filled with love and laughter. Mike was a devoted father to Jason (Katelyn), Nathan (Hailey), Adam (Marrissa), and Mollie (Leron), and step-father to Oren (Julia), and Elizabeth, and a devoted grandfather to Oliver and Levi.
Mike's life was one of active engagement with the world around him. He was a movie enthusiast. He loved to go on adventures and enjoyed time outside. Mike was an animal lover and often rescued dogs and small animals. He enjoyed his position at Papillion Sanitation where he created many strong friendships with his colleagues.
Preceded in death by his father, Gordon Miller; step-mother Sally Miller; grandparents, Miriam Dennis and Arlen Edward Dennis, Elma Pearl Miller, and Donald Miller; and step-sister, Diana Hansen.
Mike's legacy is carried on by his loving wife, Danyle; his children, Jason, Nate, Adam, Mollie, Oren, and Ellie; his adored grandchildren, Oliver and Levi; his mother, Barbara (Bob); his sisters, Susan (Wally) and Karen (Mark); and step-sisters, Chrystal (Stan) and Susan (Jay). His nieces and nephews will also feel his absence, as well as a wide circle of friends and colleagues.
Mike would like us to celebrate his life and share memories of him. A celebration of life for Mike will be held Saturday, July 20, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Westlawn-Hillcrest Funeral Home, with memory sharing to begin at 7:00 PM.
Serving as honorary pallbearers are Jason Miller, Nate Miller, Adam Miller, Mollie Miller, Oren Tomlinson, and Ellie Tomlinson.
Mike will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. His warmth, wisdom, and the joy he brought to every gathering will be deeply missed by all who had the honor of knowing him.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Mike's family for further designation.
