Jody L. Bishop

Jody was a proud graduate of Burke High School and attended college at University of Nebraska - Omaha. She worked as a Program Coordinator and Training Center Coordinator at Children's Hospital & Medical Center. She was proud to have worked for Children's Hospital for several years and became very active with the CPR program.

Jody was able to retire early to travel and spend time with her children and grandchildren. She really wanted to go to Jamaica, and she was so happy to have the opportunity to go there with her family.

Jody couldn't get enough of the Beatles and loved their music! But what truly made her the happiest was Sunday dinners with family and sitting on her front porch laughing and enjoying the day.

Jody was such a loving mom and grandma. She instilled in her children and grandchildren the value of kindness, loyalty, and -- most of all -- hard work.

Jody was preceded in death by her father, John “Jack” Sigerson; mother, Joy Sigerson; and brother, John “Big John” Sigerson.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Julie Pappas of Omaha, NE; sons, Michael Bishop of El Dorado Springs, MO and Christopher (Stephanie) Bishop of Omaha, NE; niece, Suzy Moffitt of Des Moines, IA; grandchildren, Erin Hilsabeck, Kylie Kampe, Mackinsey Bishop, Christopher Bishop, and Caleb Bishop (all of Omaha, NE) and Madison Bishop, and Remington Sloan (of El Dorado Springs, MO); and many other relatives and friends.

A visitation for Jody will be held Saturday, May 20, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Westlawn-Hillcrest Funeral Home, 5701 Center St, Omaha, Nebraska 68106, followed by a memorial service at 11:00 AM.
