Hazel L. Taylor, beloved sister, aunt, wife, partner, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on January 29, 2025, at the age of 76.
Born on December 6th, to Kenneth and Gladys Rhoades on the family farm in Bridgeport, NE., during the blizzard of 1948. She was the 5th child out of 9 with 5 brothers and 3 sisters. Her family moved to Omaha where she graduated from Technical High School and became a hairdresser. She married Donald Taylor in 1986, and began work at International Gameco as an artist. She was widowed in 1996, and began her partnership with Dave Gordon in 2002. Hazel lived a life full of love, laughter, and dedication to her family and community.
She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
A funeral service will be held in her honor on February 6, 2025, at Westlawn Hillcrest Funeral Home at 1:00pm.
Hazel is preceded in death by her husband, Donald Taylor, her parents, Kenneth and Gladys, 3 brothers, Roy, Walter, and Earl Rhoades, and 1 sister, Claudette Hrabik.
She is survived by partner Dave Gordon, brothers Tim (Fran) Rhoades, and Louis Rhoades. Sisters Jeanette Johnson, and Lena (Jeff) McCormick. 2 stepchildren, 3 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, and many nieces, and nephews.
