Gerald "Jerry" Lee Helm

Jerry is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Linda Helm (Alsager); son, Craig (Lisa) Helm and their children, Anthony, Sam (Madalyn), and Chris (Diamond); son, Scott (Robin) Helm and their children, Gavin and Ethan; son, Matt (Dawn) Helm and their children, Alyssa and Tessa; 6 great grandchildren; brother, Jim (Vija) Helm; sister-in-law, Karrie Alsager (widow of Rick Alsager); special cousins, John and Cathy Sanderson; many nieces and nephews, and many family and friends.

Jerry is preceded in death by his parents, Ervin and Bertha (Schreiner) Helm; Father and Mother-in-law, Richard and Louise Alsager; brother-in-law, Rick Alsager; and sister-in-law, Georgia Alsager.

Jerry graduated from Tech High in Des Moines, IA in 1966. On August 23, 1969 Jerry was united in marriage to the love of his life Linda Alsager. He worked at waste management for over 30 years. One thing that Jerry loved to do was play softball and even umpire some games. He also was a huge fan of Nascar and Nebraska football. There were many things in life that Jerry loved, but one of the things he loved more than anything was his family and friends. He made sure he spent time and attended many of his grandchildren and great grandchildren's activities. To say that he was an amazing man would be an understatement. He will be greatly missed.

A visitation for Jerry will be held Tuesday, October 29, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Westlawn-Hillcrest Funeral Home, 5701 Center St, Omaha, Nebraska 68106. A memorial service will occur Wednesday, October 30, 2024 at 10:30 AM at Grace Lutheran Church, 1326 S. 26th St., Omaha, Nebraska 68105.

Jerry will be laid to rest in Westlawn-Hillcrest Memorial Park, 5701 Center Street, Omaha, Nebraska 68106.
