George Pasieniuk was born in Pinsk, Poland on February 6, 1928 to Antio and Maria (Pawlowicz) Pasieniuk. He had an older brother and older twin sisters. When he was 11 years old his world was turned upside down when German and Russian armies occupied Poland and his oldest brother was put in prison. During World War 2 he worked as a forced laborer for the Germans, when allied armies defeated the German army his life was put in a new direction.
George spent the years after the war in a war refugee camp and meet the love of his life and future wife of 66 years. In 1949 George immigrated to the United States, and lived in East Chicago, Indiana and worked for Inland Steel. George went to trade school and was able to land a machinist job at Western Electric in Chicago. In 1955, George and Janina Stachowicz were married and started their life long journey together. In 1959 George transferred to Omaha where he worked until his retirement in 1989. George was an avid fisherman and spent many hours pursing his love of fishing with his son John, who he passed on his love of fishing. In 2007 George was diagnosed with an aggressive form of prostate cancer and was able keep it under control for 14 years.
George loved his wife and family and would do anything to support and help them, he was always anxious to help. George is survived by his wife Janina, 5 children, 9 grandkids and 10 great-grandkids.
