Eugene was born to Opal and Fred Kriebs on February 13, 1942. Gene spent his childhood fishing and golfing in Miller Park and playing with his favorite dog, Muggs. Gene was a proud North High Viking and made sure that he kept in contact with many of his schoolmates over the years. Gene met his wife, Lu Anne, "over the posies" while working for his great-uncle's flower shop. They were married in February 1968. Gene followed in his grandfather's footsteps and joined the United States Postal Service and finished his 39+ year career as a letter carrier. Gene is survived by his wife, Lu Anne; daughters, Karra Ewer (David), Amy Allbaugh (Jeff); grandchildren, Kirstin Peyton, Paul Peyton (Jenny), Kenneth Ewer (Amanda), and Kaylee Ewer; and great-grandchildren, Olivia Lewis, Kennadi and Carter Peyton, and Eliana and Josephine Ewer. He is preceded in death by his parents, Opal (McGeorge) and Fred Kriebs; brother-in-law, RC Saul; sister, Geraldine Saul; and daughter, Kristi Kriebs.
