Donald "Don" L. Rowland

Donald "Don" L. Rowland, age 79, of Council Bluffs, Iowa passed away on Monday, January 15, 2024. Don was born in Council Bluffs, Iowa to his parents, Ella and Claude Rowland. He was the youngest of 11 children. Don's fondest memories were on the farm in Le Mars, Iowa.

Don had two children, Matthew Roland and Jackie Stubbs. He cherished his grandchildren, Serenity, Keara, and Jaydn; and his great grandchildren, Ivy, Keagan, and Ari.

Don worked at Western Electric and retired in 2001 after 31 years of service. Don married Elizabeth (Ariza) Rowland on August 24, 1989 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Don loved his family on both sides; his and Betty's. He had a love for playing his guitar, riding his motorcycle, fishing, bowling, playing horseshoes, and model airplanes. Don's most important pastimes included reading his bible, praying, and going to church.

Don was preceded in death by loving wife, Elizabeth "Betty"; parents, Claude and Ella; and siblings, Lawrence, Chuck, Alfred, Rummell, Modest, Deloris, Ethel-Bell, and Alice.

Those left to cherish Don's memory include his children, Matthew and Jackie; grandchildren, Keara, Jaydn, and Serenity; great-grandchildren, Ivy, Keagan, and Ari; siblings, Erven and Lucy; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

A visitation for Don will be held Saturday, January 27, 2024 from 11:00-12:00 PM at Westlawn-Hillcrest Funeral Home, followed by a funeral service at 12:00 PM.

Don will be laid to rest in Westlawn-Hillcrest Memorial Park, 5701 Center Street, Omaha, Nebraska 68106.
