Beverly was born November 1, 1932, in Omaha, Nebraska. She was the youngest child of Harry Jay Neil (1890-1949) and Margaret Ruth Kleeberger Neil (1895-1973).
She graduated from Omaha Technical High School in 1950. She went on to study at the University of Nebraska and remained a lifelong Cornhuskers football fan.
She was a long-time resident of Green River, Wyoming, and loved the cowboy state. In her retirement, she moved to Mohave Valley, Arizona but would continue to spend her summers in Wyoming with her family.
Beverly was an amazing bowler and played in many leagues over the years. She was active with the Fraternal Order of Eagles and the Red Hat Society. She was a social butterfly who was not content to sit on the side when she could be part of the action. Beverly is survived by her loving husband of 37 years, Ira “Gene” Whiteley, and her children, Susan J. Elliott, John J. Tingle, Patricia J. Olson, Kathleen J. Carter, and Thomas J. Tingle. She was “Granny B” to 10 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings, Gloria Maxine Neil (1919-1978), Virginia Retta Shirley (1921-1993), Gladys Jean Kyzar (1926-2010), and Leland Dwight Neil (1928-2010).
